|| Internal evidence suggests that
scribal harmonization took place in the Alexandrian text given that “he will be
likened” appears in verse 26 (ομοιωθησεται). [2] NA-Text reads “προσεπεσαν” (aorist instead of second aorist). [3] NA-Text reads “ετελεσεν”.
Both verbs can mean the same thing with different nuances. [4] NA-Text and Vg-St read “their scribes” instead of “the scribes”: א B C K W Δ Θ Π ƒ1 ƒ13 22

Internal evidence suggests scribal adjustment in the Byzantine text once “the
scribes” is a common reading in the gospels, occurring 26 times versus “their
scribes” occurring just once in Luke 5:30, which made this pronoun
susceptible to scribal adjustment. Pronoun added. |
